Packing our bags again … this time – Oahu!!

Hey guys … Happy 2012!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and stayed safe out there!! I know we did!!

So – we’re officially 4 days into the New Year, and we’re already packing our bags for the first wedding of the year which happens to be in beautiful Oahu!! We’ll be shooting at the New Disney property while we’re there, and also numerous spots around the island all week next week! I’m hoping to catch some Whales breaching the ocean water, and also hoping to shoot some Infrared while I’m there, so wish me luck!

We’re going pretty bare bones in terms of gear, but we are traveling with 3 camera bodies (not including my laptop, or video gear) and minimal strobe and lighting equipment, to cut down on the excessive baggage charges. We’re using all Nikon gear, with Quantum Strobes, Gitzo support, and Really Right Stuff Mounting Hardware. All in all, I’m about 70 pounds of equipment between my two primary bags which is LIGHT!!!

So needless to say -  if you need to get in touch with us, email is probably the best way to do it! Our rental property looks to have all the amenities you could ask for (including the ever important Coffee Maker!) so I’ll be happily strolling through my email with a tasty hot beverage in hand!

We’ll be back in our studio on January 18th (hopefully not too jet-lagged) and ready for more!

Thanks so much for reading!

A Year in a Snapshot – part 1

Wow!! It has been a absolutely amazing, amazing, AMAZING year for us!

I can’t believe how fast it has gone, and how much we’ve done.We are so grateful that we get to do something we love everyday! It still trips me out sometimes!

So here’s what I’m thinking … I thought it might be appropriate to make this post a little longer than usual (in terms of photos) because it will be the last post I make for the year, and seems logical to make it a highlights type post with lots of images from various jobs. (Some of the coolest stuff we shot this year!) – since it’s quite a bit longer than a normal post … I think I’ll split it into two parts.

Sound okay to you?

So onward and upward … this year – we started off shooting in the Yucatan (GORGEOUS GIG BTW) on a little island off the coast called Isla Mujeres, as well as a return trip to the Caribbean Islands (specifically St. Thomas in the USVI) visiting, shooting & vacationing in this glorious corner of the world. It has been a mixed bag of photo coolness this year, with our production schedule packed shooting everything from amazing animals, to gorgeous landscapes, magazine covers, really awesome people, architectural photography, and of course beautiful weddings! We love it all!

I’m not gonna lie though … there were a few times this year when things slowed down quite a bit  (which is always unsettling – and if you’re a self employed person you know EXACTLY what I mean) but as they say “It all comes out in the wash” – and it did! Our year ended up being simply stellar, and we have so much to be thankful for!! Especially to our amazing clients and our wonderfully supportive families. They endure SO MUCH by putting up with the long hours that are required with this type of work!

Thank you, thank you thank you to our Amazing Families and Wonderful Clients!!

Here’s to 2012!!

And lastly, here are a few more cool images we captured at this gorgeous Filipino wedding in Jefferson City Missouri back in May. Lots of amazing color and details!! Myla and Mike decided to exchange their vows and the beautiful St. Peters Catholic Church, and to celebrate the occasion, they kicked off  a great reception at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Downtown Jefferson City Missouri.

Thanks for reading … and have a Happy New Year!!!

Destination Wedding – Caribbean 2011

Hi Guys!

I just wanted to take a quick second to let all our existing clients know that we’ll be traveling to the Caribbean – today (August 2nd) through (August 9th)

During these dates, we’ll be covering a destination wedding assignment on the beautiful Island of St. Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands. If you need any assistance during these dates, please feel free to email us anytime. We’ll do our best to respond to your query within 48 hours if at all possible.

Lastly, I thought maybe I’d post a few images that I captured in this part of the world a few years back for everyone to enjoy. It’s just a gorgeous place to visit, and I’m excited to see it again!!

Enjoy the photos!
